Summary
The Gospel of John is different from the other 3 Gospels. The intention of the Gospel of John is not so much to tell of what Jesus did. The Gospel of John teaches us who Jesus is – the Son of God. There are 7 I AM names in the Gospel of John, that identify Jesus with Old Testament passages. We’ll look at the first one tonight “I AM the Good Shepherd.” The Lord Jesus is identifying Himself with David’s 23rd Psalm. ‘the Lord is my Shepherd.’ These Names are absolutely fascinating. How about this - the prophets would say ‘thus saith the Lord’; Jesus said ‘I say’; the prophets would say ‘God is’; Jesus said ‘I AM’ Seriously, these messages are too good to miss.
