Holy Living

Living a holy life is a privilege.  Peace, a clear conscience, praying powerfully, just as the Lord Jesus did, is how we were intended to live.  Holiness is freedom.

‘Lord, You set me apart because I am godly, You hear me when I call’
Psalm 4:3 Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for himself; the LORD will hear when I call to him.

Psalm 101:3 I will set nothing wicked before my eyes;

‘Lord, I live right by reading and doing Your Word’
Psalm 119:9 How can a young man stay pure? By reading your Word and following its rules.

 ‘Lord, I have hid Your Word in my heart so that I will not sin against You’
Ps 119:11 Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You. 

‘Lord, I will not let sin reign in my body and I do not obey its lusts’

Lord, my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, I will use it to glorify You
I Corinthians 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? v20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.

‘Lord, I discipline my body and bring it in line so that I will never be a hypocrite’
I Corinthians 9:27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection, lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

Lord, out of reverence for You, I cleanse myself from all filth
2 Corinthians 7:1 Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

‘Lord, I am a Christian and have crucified improper passions and desires’
Galatians 5:24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.

I Thessalonians 4:7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.

‘Lord, I abstain from every form of evil’
I Thessalonians 5:22 Abstain from every form of evil.

Lord, godliness is profitable in all things
I Timothy 4:8 For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.

‘Lord, I flee from lust and pursue purity in my life’
2 Timothy 2:22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

 'Lord, I speak evil of no one, I walk in love’
Titus 3:2 to speak evil of no one, to be peaceable, gentle, showing all humility to all men.

‘Lord, I follow peace and holiness with everyone therefore I am in fellowship with You’
Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

I Peter 1:15 but as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct,
