Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 83

March 24;      Mark 5:40;       33/260(IV);        ‘Jesus Put Them Out’

Mark 5:40 And they ridiculed Him. But when He had put them all outside, He took the father and the mother of the child, and those who were with Him, and entered where the child was lying.

As Christians we have the responsibility to love and encourage each other.  But as you mature in the Word of God it becomes very clear that not all Christians have been taught or believe the way we do concerning healing and baptism in the Holy Spirit (primarily these two areas).  Notice when the Lord Jesus was approaching Jairus’ house, He had with Him Peter, James and John.  When Jesus got to the home of Jairus, everyone was weeping and mourning, until Jesus told them in verse 39 that the little girl was asleep and not dead.  Immediately they began to ridicule Jesus and laugh at Him, forgetting their mourning.  According to the crowd, Jairus’ daughter was dead and that was all there was to that.  They could not conceive of the Holy Spirit’s power through Jesus that could bring her back from the grave.  Because of their unbelief, Jesus could not have them around when He raised her from the dead.  What a powerful truth this is.  If you cannot believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to do miracles, then you will have a very tough time seeing miracles.  When Gabriel, sent by the Lord to tell Mary she would be the mother of Jesus, though it was difficult for her to understand in the natural, she did not doubt it would be since, as the angel said, the power of the Holy Spirit would come upon Mary and he also mentioned that her cousin Elizabeth was going to have a baby in her old age, concluding with “for with God nothing shall be impossible.”  We, as born again, Spirit filled Christians believe this completely.  Jesus Christ is God.  He ministered by the power of the Holy Spirit and gave that power to us to minister by as well.  Love all believes.  Know who to pray with.
