Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 5

January 5;      Hebrews 11:6;       214/260(III);        ‘Without Faith’

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

The Bible teaches that the just (righteous) shall live by faith.  The Lord wants us to believe His Word and live our lives in accordance with it.  Isaiah 55 tells us that the ways of the Lord are not our ways.  It says that the ways of the Lord are higher than our ways.  It also says that God’s Word does exactly what it says it will do and the Lord wants us to believe this.  This verse tells us that we cannot please the Lord without faith.  How it must bless our heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus when we begin to live our lives in line with what the Bible says and not what the world says.  It will take a while for you to get there if the Word of God is new to you or if you have been a Christian and have not spent time reading the Word.  If you will be diligent, the faith you need to please the Lord will begin to grow in your spirit as you read the Word (Romans 10:17).  The Lord Jesus told us that we are in the world, but we are not of the world.  Once we become a Christian, the Lord wants us to live differently than we did before we became a Christian.  He rewards faith.  When we live our lives governed by what the Lord says and not what the world says this please Him.  He made us and desires us to live His way, not the way of a fallen world that has rejected Him.  Finally, this verse says He rewards those who diligently seek Him.  Living by faith takes diligence on our part.  Make the effort, living by faith blesses us and pleases the Lord.
