Revelation 9:20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, that they should not worship demons, and idols of gold, silver, brass, stone, and wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk.

The fifth and the sixth trumpet sound and the incredible events of end times continue.  The Lord will use demonic forces to drive people to Jesus.  When the fifth trumpet is blown, demonic creatures are released from hell.  They are likened to scorpions in that they have the power to inflict very painful ‘stings.’  They are not allowed to kill anyone, just torment them.  Again, the Lord is giving the lost opportunity to repent and turn to Jesus.  Remember angels will be preaching 24/7 and so will the 144,000 Jewish evangelists.  The sixth trumpet sounds and four angels release a 200 million man army. The ultimate destination of this army will be the valley of Megiddo to be there at the battle of Armageddon.  While they march there, they will kill one third of unsaved humanity.  The 144,000 Jewish evangelists are protected and so will many of the Christians who accept Jesus during the tribulation.  Many Christians will be martyred during the tribulation, but it does not appear that this demonic army will kill them.  The verse we are referring to astounds me.  In the light of all of this, that almost defy imagination, many who have not accepted Jesus will not repent and accept Him.  Possibly lies put forth by the antichrist are believed.  Perhaps pride, the anti God nature of the devil and unsaved man is so strong they refuse to change.
