Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 356
December 22; Luke 2:15; 46/260; ‘The Supernatural is Natural’
Luke 2:15 So it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us."
When Jesus was born, an angel appeared to nearby shepherds and told them the Savior had been born. The shepherds were terrified at first. The things of God, since they come from another realm, the spiritual realm, may be frightening at first, but the Lord never does things to intentionally frighten you. They got over their initial fear and went to Bethlehem to see the Baby Jesus. The supernatural led them to the Baby Jesus, and what a blessing it was to see the infant Son of God. The Lord intervenes into the natural realm through the spiritual realm to bless us and help us. As you see and learn from the Bible, understanding that the supernatural is really natural because God is Spirit, you lose all fear. Some things the Bible teaches are supernatural, and it takes time to know them and understand them. Once you know this, they become blessings you now have come to understand and you see that God has given them to help us. Praying in tongues enhances our prayers, healing is a blessing from a loving God who would never want you in pain. Exuberant joy displayed in ‘dancing,’ shouting, running, laughter etc. is our body responding to the overwhelming joy of knowing God’s love and provisions. The gifts of the Spirit are manifestations of God to bless, strengthen and help us. I heard a minister say that once you become a Christian, you are no longer to ‘consider yourself human.’ How exciting real Christianity is. Establish in your heart that God is love. He would not offer anything that was not of value to you, even if initially it is not understood. Trust Him, He is so exciting.
