Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 355
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 355
December 21; Luke 1:37; 45/260; ‘Nothing’s Impossible For God’
Luke 1:37 For nothing is impossible with God." NIV
The angel Gabriel was sent by God the Father to a virgin named Mary, in the city of Nazareth. Gabriel tells Mary she has found favor with God and would conceive in her womb a Son by the power of the Holy Spirit coming upon her. Mary questioned how this could happen, but she was not in unbelief that it could happen. After Gabriel explains how she would conceive, Mary humbly accepted by faith what God the Father’s will for her life was. Gabriel goes on to tell Mary, “with God nothing is impossible.” Mary’s faith in what she was told enabled her to conceive the Lord Jesus. God’s Word did not say, “For nothing is impossible for God,” for Mary’s sake only. Every one of us needs to know that Almighty God is a miracle working God and that nothing is too difficult or impossible for Him. Mary believed after she was told by Gabriel. The information she received supernaturally, created faith in her spirit, which enabled Mary to receive the incredible blessing of being the mother of Jesus. We believe the same way what the Word of God teaches by our faith. Then, just like Mary we are enabled us to receive everything the Lord freely gives us through the Word. The only thing that is impossible, is for us to receive what God’s Word freely tells us is ours, if we have not read the Word. Then we would not know what legally belongs to us as Christians. The Word of God cannot bring the impossible into reality in our lives if we do not know it. As you faithfully read the Word, faith rises in your spirit and you know that what the Lord has told is true and that it is a reality for you.
