Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 340
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 340
December 6; Mark 2:13; 30/260; ‘The Eternal Word’
Mark 2:13 Then He went out again by the sea; and all the multitude came to Him, and He taught them.
Already sought by multitudes because of the miracles He did. The Lord Jesus now taught the people the Word. The gospels reveal that the Lord Jesus did more teaching than anything else in His earthly ministry. Miracles are incredible, exciting and surely get the attention of people. But Jesus knew that the multitudes needed to know about God the Father and the Word. The Word teaches why there are miracles and about the Lord who does them. The Word teaches that as wonderful as the miracles are, they help people in this lifetime. Teaching the eternal truths of the Word of God will help those who hear naturally and eternally. The Word of God covers every aspect of our life. It introduces us to God the Father, the Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit. The Jewish people that Jesus taught, had been taught by the religious leaders. Some of what the religious leaders taught was the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Bible and some of what the religious leaders taught was their thoughts, opinions and ideas. The thoughts, opinions and ideas of men cannot help you in times of need. As time went on the books written by the religious leaders increased, mixing with the Pentateuch and in essence causing confusion. God’s Word will help and protect you when you know it and apply it in your life. Teach people the Word. Introduce them to the Word says of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Reveal to them how much they are loved and what Jesus did for them. Make sure they are Born Again, that is their greatest need. Teach them to expect miracles from the Lord they are getting to know.
