Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 338

December 4;      Matthew 28:6;      28/260;      ‘Jesus Christ is the Word’

Matthew 28:6 He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

After the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, an angel came to the tomb, rolled away the stone from the entrance of the tomb and sat on it.  The Roman soldiers, guarding the tomb fainted.  Think of that.  Rome had basically conquered the world.  Their army was incredibly strong and brave.  Those soldiers were terrified of the angel.  Let that excite you.  Inside of us is the Holy Spirit and He comes upon us to empower us to minister.  Natural things are no match for the spiritual power that is within us.  The women who followed Jesus were at the tomb and the angel told them that the Lord Jesus was not there, that He was risen just as He said.  The Lord put that in the Bible to bless us and build our faith.  Angels have been in heaven with the Father and Jesus, they know the power and truth of their words.  We must know that as well.  Everything the Lord Jesus said is truth and comes to pass.  John 1:1 tells us Jesus is the Word.  You can believe God’s Word because it is the Lord Jesus talking to you.  Be diligent to read and know the Word.  If you understand and believe the Word of God is literally God speaking to you, you will make quality time daily to read and know what the Lord would say to you.  It is impossible to overstate the importance of knowing God’s Word.  Joshua 1:8 tells us that ‘this Book (the Bible) shall not depart…meditate it…’ The Lord spoke to me and said of this verse, “This Book, not books about this Book.” Christian books are important, but sure not more than the Bible.  Read the Bible, believe the Bible, do the Bible and be blessed by what Jesus is saying to you.
