Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 33
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 33
February 2; Revelation 5:5; 243/260(III); ‘The Scroll’
Revelation 5:5 But one of the elders said to me, "Do not weep. Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals."
We must remember that Revelation is the revelation of the Lord Jesus Christ and what He is doing in this end time Book. So many books and movies reference the devil and the antichrist and what they will be doing. Surely they play a role, but the focus of the Book of Revelation is Jesus Christ doing everything He can to see that the Jews are saved. God the Father, on His throne has a scroll with seven seals. Those seals represent what the Lord Jesus Christ is beginning to do during the seven year period called the tribulation. The Church has been raptured, we are in heaven. Those still on the earth were not born again and therefore they remained on the earth when the rapture occurred. Multitudes will accept Jesus after the rapture. Those who were witnessed to by Christians and were told that one day the Lord Jesus would appear in the sky to take us home now know that this was true. The antichrist will persecute the Christians and those who will not take the mark of the beast (ch 13), some will be martyred, but those who have accepted Jesus will spend eternity with Him. John is weeping because no one seemed worthy to take the scroll from the Father and open the seals, beginning what the Lord has planned for the tribulation. Then the Lord Jesus comes and takes the scroll from the hands of His Father. It’s ‘showtime.’ I am not trying to be funny concerning this incredible period of time. But it’s Jesus revealing what is about to happen. He won.
