Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 324
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 324
November 20; Matthew 14:14; 14/260; ‘Love Heals’
Matthew 14:14 And when Jesus went out He saw a great multitude; and He was moved with compassion for them, and healed their sick.
The Lord Jesus saw a multitude of people, He was moved with compassion and healed the sick. Often in the gospels, we are told that Jesus was moved with compassion and healed the sick. Jesus Christ is God and God is love. He cares for you and if you are not feeling well He has the same compassion now as He did then. Jesus would not be who He is if He did not still heal. The Bible teaches that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever. The Bible also teaches that the Lord never changes. He looked at the multitude then and He looks at everyone who is suffering now. What we need to do is believe that this is true and it is, because the Bible teaches this. A very powerful truth in the Word is that Jesus, when He came to earth, left His deity in heaven and functioned on earth as a Man. His power to heal was the power of the Holy Spirit which came upon Him when He was water baptized by John the Baptist. Jesus did it this way so that when He returned to heaven, He would send the Holy Spirit to continue to heal people through Christians. Knowing this truth and purposing in your heart to continue the ministry of Jesus, leads to a life that nothing this chaotic, deceived world can come close to. When you become Born Again, God’s love, the compassion of Jesus is deposited in our spirit. The power to heal, by the Holy Spirit, has been given to the church. This happens when you are baptized in the Holy Spirit. That same miracle working power of the Holy Spirit is upon you as that power was upon Jesus. Only the Lord would care enough to do this. Let His ministry continue in me.
