November 8;      Matthew 2:13;      2/260;      ‘Spiritual Dreams’

Matthew 2:13  “Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, saying, "Arise, take the young Child and His mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I bring you word; for Herod will seek the young Child to destroy Him."

We are the Lord’s people and have supernatural protection. God the Father used 5 dreams (4 for Joseph and 1 for the ‘Wise Men’) to protect the Baby Jesus. The Lord Jesus had a destiny. He was to redeem mankind from sin and sickness and God the Father was well able to accomplish this using men and women to do what He told them to do, to protect His Son. I John 3:1 tells us we are sons and daughters of the Father.  John 17:23 tells us the Father loves us as much as He loves Jesus. We can and should expect supernatural protection as well. We all have ‘general’ direction for our life from the Word of God. The Lord Jesus told us that if we love Him, we will obey Him. By ‘obeying’ the Word of God, we are obeying Jesus. The Word of God also teaches that if we are Born Again, the Holy Spirit will live in us, and lead us and bear witness with us. He will give us specific direction for our lives. We all have been created by God with specific things He wants us to accomplish. The secular world asks us, “What do you want to do?”   Once we are Born Again, like the Apostle Paul in Acts 9, our response should be, “Lord what do You want me to do?”  Joseph and the wise men had a choice to heed the dreams they had and the direction they were given. They did not have the Word of God….we do. They did not have the Holy Spirit living inside them….we do.  Obey the Word and seek the leading of the Holy Spirit….and we too will be protected, helped and fulfill the Father’s will for our lives. Since the Lord has a specific plan for us, we honor the Lord and He blesses us the more we are in His will.
