Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 300
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 300
October 27; Revelation 12:12; 250/260; ‘Woe’
Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, O heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time."
satan who rebelled against God the Father and the Lord Jesus was cast out of heaven. Evidently, he still has had access to heaven. Verses 7-11 teach that there will be a battle in heaven. The angel Michael and his angels fight with satan (the dragon) and his fallen angels. The result is that satan will be cast down to the earth, and never will be allowed back to heaven. The raptured church, in heaven rejoices for they know that the time of the devil is short (the period called the great tribulation). Since his time is short, the devil will persecute those who have accepted Jesus fiercely as well as those who have not as of yet accepted the mark of the beast. The hatred of satan towards God, because of his nature of pride is great. The devil tried to usurp God’s throne in heaven and his rebellion was quickly crushed. Now, the devil, ‘gets back at God’ by doing everything he can to destroy the lives of humanity, since the Father loves us so much. In verses 1-6 the Word tells us of a woman satan is trying to kill. That woman is the tribulation church. In spite of the tremendous persecution during the great tribulation, the last 3.5 years of the tribulation, the Father has a place of protection for the Christians during this horrific time (v14). satan is not all knowing, as the Lord is, but he does know then, from the Bible, that his time is short. His insane hatred towards the Father and his desire for what he calls revenge never stops. His demise is coming, Armageddon, the Millennium and eternity in hell awaits the devil.
