Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 294

October 21;   Revelation 6:15;      244/260;      ‘Hiding, Not Repenting’

Revelation 6:15 And the kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains,

The Lord Jesus has begun to deal with humanity that have rejected Him to this point.  Again, the mistake that has been made is that it is satan and the antichrist, during the tribulation, that are causing the incredible events which are unfolding.  Remember in Revelation 1:1, we are told that it is the Revelation of Jesus Christ.  As the seals that protect the scroll they cover, are opened, unprecedented political, military and natural calamities occur.  What is happening is the Lord Jesus is continuing to ‘put pressure’ on the lost to bring them to Himself.  There will be Christian martyrs (verses 9-10), those who accept the Lord during the tribulation who will not take the mark of the beast.  Indeed the antichrist will be persecuting the tribulation Christians.  There will be protection for these Christians if they obey the Lord and His Word.  Those who are martyred, I believe, like Stephen in Acts, the Lord will be with them and help them to give their lives.  The sixth seal reveals a cataclysmic upheaval of nature, the purpose to open the eyes of the lost and turn them to Jesus.  This verse teaches that every kind of men, rather than repent and give their lives to Jesus, hide from His wrath.  Verse 16 tells us that they know that all of these incredible changes to the earth and sky as we know them, are the work of the Father and Jesus.  Yet it seems they refuse to bow their knee to Him.  Perhaps some will yet change and accept the Lord Jesus.  Jesus in His mercy wants this.  The insanity of rejecting Jesus is seen so clearly.
