Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 289
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 289
October 16; Revelation 1:6; 239/260(IV); ‘Kings & Priests’
Revelation 1:6 and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Verse 5 tells us that the One who made us kings and priests to God the Father is Jesus Christ. Jesus in verse 5 is described as the firstborn from the dead, the ruler over kings of the earth and the One who loved us and washed us from our sins in His blood. Verse 6 teaches us that this same Jesus has made us kings and priests. Once we become born again, the Bible declares that legally, we are seated at the right hand of God the Father along side of the Lord Jesus. In this position, we are far above demonic forces and can now rule and reign on the earth through Jesus. Our prayers, asking the Lord to intervene in earthly circumstances, enables Jesus to deal with existing conditions and change or strengthen them. As priests, we have the privilege to represent the people before God. Our prayers for others, allows the Lord to move on the behalf of who we are praying for. We also represent the Lord to people. Our conduct and knowledge of the Word as we minister to others helps them to see the reality and love of Jesus Christ for them. What an honor we have to play an important role in changing or maintaining events and making a difference eternally in the lives of many people. The meaning of life is very easy, it is spelled JESUS. Because of not only eternal life given to us when we become a Christian, but the exciting and fulfilling life that is ours as we serve the Lord, we worship Him and glorify Him declaring that Jesus Christ is Lord and His dominion will last forever. God’s Word teaches who Jesus made us.
