Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 278
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 278
October 5; 2 Peter 1:13; 228/260(IV); ‘To Stir You Up’
2 Peter 1:13 Yes, I think it is right, as long as I am in this tent, to stir you up by reminding you,
Peter was an Apostle of Jesus and had the responsibility to teach the Word of God. He tells us in verse 13 that he will continue to teach the Word, even though they have heard what he taught before and they are grounded in what Peter is teaching. Peter knows that the end of his life is nearing, but until he is martyred, he will continue to teach the biblical truths he has taught the people. You can never hear the Word of God enough. Additionally, as you grow in your walk with Jesus, you are able to understand what you already have been taught in a deeper way. We can never get to the point with the Word that we know everything there is to know about the scriptures. We went to yearly seminars taught by Kenneth Hagin, who founded Rhema Bible Training Center. Rev. Hagin, in these seminars, taught about faith in the evening sessions and prayer in the morning sessions. He taught on the same topics every year and every year there was more spiritual insight into what he taught. Again, God’s Word is alive and it is supernatural. The Word is literally, according to Isaiah 55, Almighty God teaching us His thoughts and ways. We could never think that we know as much as the Lord about any scriptures in the Word. We can always learn more. Additionally, the Lord uses different ministers, with different personalities to teach us. We get fresh insight into the Word as we listen to these anointed men and women of God. Peter was wise. He did what made sense to him. As long as he was alive, he would continue to teach God’s Word.
