Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 273

September 30;     I Peter 1:20;      223/260(IV);      ‘Manifested For you’

1 Peter 1:20 He indeed was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you

God the Father has always known what He was going to do.  Someone said the Father has never had an idea, He always knew exactly what would happen and what He would do.  Before the earth was and Adam sinned, cursing the earth, Jesus was ordained to come and die for our sins.  Mankind was given a free will and does not have to sin.  God the Father knew that we would.  His love for His crowning creation, us, would not allow us to be forever separated from Him because of sin.  Galatians 4:4 teaches that at exactly when the Father chose, Jesus was born a Man and came into this world to redeem us.  Jesus’ work was indeed universal in scope, in that His sacrifice opens the door for every person to believe what Jesus did for us and accept Him as our Lord and Savior.  Jesus’ work was indeed personal as well.  Jesus died for me.  Peter swore to Jesus that he would never deny the Lord and was willing to die with Him.  Jesus told Peter that before the rooster crowed, Peter would deny Jesus three times and he did.  When Jesus was receiving a mock trial, since the religious leaders were going to kill Jesus somehow, Peter was there as Jesus was being tried.  Peter denied Jesus three times and they heard the rooster crow.  Jesus, about to die for humanity, turned and looked at Peter, who began to weep bitterly.  On the cross Jesus spoke to the Apostle John and told him to care for Mary, Jesus’ mother.  His work was universal and personal.  Jesus came and did what needed to be done.  We all are loved.
