Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 232
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 232
August 20; Colossians 4:5; 182/260(IV); ‘Redeem the Time’
Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
The intake of the Word of God gives us knowledge. The outflow of the Word of God is wisdom. A very powerful way to live, is when you are praying in the morning, one of the things to pray for, is to ask the Holy Spirit to open the door for you to use godly wisdom to minister and help those who do not yet know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. God’s Word is truth, and that truth will help the lost, and your caring and help will make a very strong impression upon them. Having taken time to put the knowledge of the Word of God into you spirit and mind will allow you to give others wise counsel that the world cannot give. The most precious commodity we have is time. We are here for a period of time and there is no greater use of our time than in ministering to people. The Lord will help you to make up for wasted time before you became a Christian. Purpose in your heart and tell the Lord as you fellowship with Him in prayer that you want to use your time here on earth wisely and for His glory. We were created by the Lord and given talents and abilities to use in service to others. How wonderful it is to go to bed each night knowing that you did your very best to use your time wisely in helping others. The Bible says of Jesus if everything He did was written down in three years of ministry, there would not be enough room in the world for all of the books (John 21:25). We are called to continue Jesus’ ministry (John 17:18). May we use the wisdom of the Word and our time to impact others as Jesus did.
