Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 359

December 24;   I Corinthians 1:1;   134/260(II);   ‘His Will For Me’

1 Corinthians1:1  Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God…..

We see in this verse that God the Father had a plan for the Apostle Paul.  That plan was for Paul to be an apostle of the Lord Jesus.  Jeremiah 1:5 teaches that Jeremiah was called to be a prophet before the Lord formed him in his mother’s womb.  Personally, I never knew the Lord cared about me enough to have a spiritual plan for my future.  I never applied myself in school, and because of that, I disqualified myself from becoming a gym teacher.  I was given an excellent job because I came to know key people in the company I worked for.  My wife and I had marital problems, which caused a serious challenge.  She had a good Christian friend, who led her to Jesus.  In a short time I saw such a change in my wife, that I too, accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior.  Jesus Christ and the Word of God came to be the most important thing in my life.  The Lord helped me to change some attitudes that needed to be changed and as time went on, I clearly heard the Lord calling me and my wife to Bible School and then to be a pastor.  Once I became serious with the Lord He clearly directed my life spiritually.  He will lead you and help you do what He has called each of us to do if you let Him.  It does not have to be full time in the ministry.  We all are called to share the Lord.  Often, in the natural, many have a great desire for certain careers.  That often is of the Lord.  A doctor can use some of his time for mission work.  A musician can use his talent to worship the Lord.  Whatever you do, you can be a blessing to the church with your natural talents.  Spiritually, ask and He will help you find your place.
