Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 30

January 30;      John 17:17;       85/260;      ‘Your Word is Truth’

John 17:17 Sanctify them by Your truth. Your word is truth.

The Lord tells us clearly and to the point that His Word is truth.  We can accept this or reject this, but we cannot change this.  The word truth means true in any matter under discussion.  The world, without the Lord, does not like absolutes.  What is so very clear about the Word of God, is that it when you do believe that it is true, accept the Word as truth and live your life in line with the truth of the Word, your life will change for the better.  Every Christian I have ever asked in forty years, if the Word of God has changed their life, has said yes it has.  Nothing else could ever make that claim.  The word sanctify means to set apart for a sacred purpose.  Once we become born again, our lives change and we have the privilege and the responsibility to do the work of the ministry.  We know that the Word of God completely changed our life when we believed it and acted upon it.  Believing that we now have a very special purpose in life, we diligently spend time in the Word, to learn it more and share its truths with others.  God’s Word shared confidently and kindly has a very powerful effect on people, since it is the truth. Jesus told us that if we continue in the Word, diligently reading it, we will know the truth and that truth we know will make us free.  It will do the same for others as well. The more we share the truth of the Word, the more we desire to share it.  The Word teaching about itself tells us that forever the Word of God is settled in heaven, it never changes and always accomplishes what it says that it will accomplish.  Know it and share it.
