Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 25

January 25;      John 12:50;       80/260;      ‘A Good Thing to Know’

John 12:50 And I know that His command is everlasting life. Therefore, whatever I speak, just as the Father has told Me, so I speak."

The Lord Jesus came from heaven.  For all of eternity past, Jesus and His Father were together.  Jesus knew that the Father’s ‘command,’ what the Father said based on His authority was eternal, unchanging.  Since our Lord knew this, He knew the power of His Father’s words, Jesus purposed in His heart to only say what the Father said.  Verse 49 further teaches that the Father commanded Jesus to speak what His Father said.  Think about that, Jesus spoke only words that brought everlasting life.  So many words people speak are negative.  The negative words are inspired by the devil to hurt those who speak them.  Jesus life was and is our Example.  Knowing that He spoke only words of everlasting life, must make an impact on us, concerning the words that we speak.  God’s Word has much to say about the words we speak.  Remember, God is a Spirit and He created everything we see with His words.  The Lord spoke only what He wanted and not what He did not want.  Our adversary, satan, knows the power of our words, since we are made in the image of God.  Our words can be and should be words of life, inspired by the Word of God.  Words of life will bless you and those you speak them over.  The devil does all he can to get us to speak negative words, because he knows that those words will produce pain and misery.  Those who do not know the Word of God are easily deceived into speaking negative words. That is primarily what they hear. Know the Word, speak life for yourself and others, just like Jesus.
