Acts 28:30 Then Paul dwelt two whole years in his own rented house, and received all who came to him,

Paul was in Rome finally, where he would be until his execution.  He was under guard, but was allowed to stay in his own rented house.  Many of the Jews, as always challenged what Paul taught.  This did not faze him one bit.  For the final two years of his life, he did what he always did and what he loved to do, he preached and taught the Word of God to whoever came to his home to listen to him.  Paul had an incredible ministry.  Traveling the known world, starting churches, fully preaching the Word with signs following and writing 14 books of the New Testament.  He suffered persecution for his ministry as possibly no one else ever did.  One could think that possibly, before his death, Paul would desire to have some time to himself.  That was obviously not his mindset.  As you read the epistles (letters) he wrote, it is easy to see his heart.  Paul dearly loved the believers in the churches he started and sharing the revelation given to him by the Holy Spirit in these epistles, knowing the power of these truths, had to be a privilege beyond anything he could ever have asked for.  Now at the ‘close’ of his ministry, Paul having all of this revelation, had no intention of not sharing it with whoever wanted to know the deep things of the Lord.  When you are a serious Christian and you have taken time to study the Word of God and have had the privilege of sharing what you have learned with others, like Paul, you want to make every moment of your life, in the remaining time you have left, count.  There is no condemnation for those who do choose to slow down in the final years of their life. But for others teaching until the end of their lives is so vital.
