Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  2024  Day 60

February 29;        Acts 26:27;          115/260;         ‘Not Ashamed of the Gospel’

Acts 26:27 King Agrippa, do you believe the prophets? I know that you do believe."

The Apostle Paul, a prisoner, was sharing with King Agrippa and his wife Bernice.  He boldly shared his testimony, and asked the King if he believed what the prophets said about Jesus?  Paul knew that King Agrippa knew about Jesus and proceeded to ask him if he wanted to be saved.  Agrippa did not accept the Lord, but the key to this is that Paul was not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus.  He shared the Word with everyone, including this King, not intimidated by who King Agrippa was.  Everyone needs to be born again, regardless of who they are and the position that they have in life.  Paul was free.  Jesus Christ had supernaturally called Paul.  Paul, as a religious zealot, was bold to persecute Christians.  Now as a minister of the Gospel he had purposed in his heart to present Jesus Christ to anyone and everyone.  Kings need to be saved and so does every famous or influential person.  The challenge is that many Christians would have been intimidated by who King Agrippa was.  Paul had been through too much to be afraid to tell the Good News to a King. As you read about what Paul went through for the Gospel of Jesus in  2 Corinthians 11, you can see how these persecutions liberated him from being intimidated by anyone.  In Galatians 6:17 Paul tells us not to ‘mess with him’ for he bore in his body scars for the Lord.  You do not have to have gone through physical abuse to be free, just know that everyone, regardless of who they are must be saved. A King can go to hell. Don’t be ashamed of Jesus.
