February 7;         Acts 4:23;            93/260;        ‘Their Own Company’

Acts 4:23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.     KJV

There are many ‘streams’ in the Body of Christ, the Church.  The bottom line is, does the Church you attend believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He came to earth and died on the cross for our sins?  That salvation comes by believing this and asking Jesus to be your Lord and Savior.  Many true Churches do not believe in healing and the baptism in the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.  There are various reasons, that we will not get into, as to why they do not believe these biblical truths.  Therefore, if you had a need for physical healing, it would do you no spiritual good to go to a Church that does not believe in healing.  They may pray a general prayer for you, but there is no steadfast faith that Jesus is the Healer and that you will be healed when they pray.  Peter and John were setting a precedent here.  This was probably the only Church at that time, but there is a vital truth in this verse.  Once you become born again, you must read and study the Word of God and listen to sermons taught in a Church.  Read and listen to what is taught concerning healing and the baptism in the Holy Spirit.  If after reading the Word, studying what the Word says about these topics and listening to a Pastor teach on them, you must decide if indeed you believe in divine healing and the baptism in the Holy Spirit, with the evidence of speaking in tongues.  If you do believe in them and the Church you are currently attending does not, find a Church that does believe and it will become ‘your own company.’  Peter and John were threatened by the religious leaders not to speak in Jesus’ Name, then they went to pray with the Church that believed exactly as they did.
