Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" 2024 Day 264
September 19; Luke 17:15; 61/260(III); ‘Thank You’
Luke 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God,
Ten lepers met Jesus in a village and stood afar off. They cried out to the Lord for mercy. Jesus told them to go and show themselves to the priests and as they went they were cleansed of their leprosy. One of the lepers, who was a Samaritan, realizing that he had been healed returned to Jesus, glorified the Lord, fell at Jesus’ feet and gave Him thanks. Jesus seemed surprised that although ten were cleansed, only one came back to thank the Lord. Jesus then told the one who did gratefully return, to go his way as his faith had made him well. There is something wonderful about saying thank you to the Lord for all of the blessings He has bestowed upon us. In reality, we could never thank Him enough for saving us, but taking just a few moments to thank Him every time He blesses or protects you has to please Jesus and it reflects the love He has put into our spirit. Every morning when Gracie the dog and I go out for a walk, I thank the Lord for the gift of another day of life and I ask Him to use me to be a blessing during the day. When Gracie the dog and I return from our walk, I thank the Lord when we get into the driveway of my home for once again protecting us from any danger as we walked. Our health, finances, relationships, on and on, He blesses all of this. A simple thank you must let Jesus know that we love Him and are very aware that everything good we have comes from Him. Saying thank you is a continual reminder of our eternal relationship with Jesus. Thank you tells the Lord of your gratitude and your love.
