Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  2024  Day 233

August 19;     Mark 1:40;     29/260(III);      ‘He is Willing’

Mark 1:40 Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, "If You are willing, You can make me clean."

This passage of scripture reveals the will of the Lord concerning His willingness to heal sickness.  Since the Lord Jesus is God, just as much God as God the Father and the Holy Spirit, this leper and I am sure multitudes of people know He has the power to heal.  They question Jesus’ willingness.  The primary reason for this is that many do not feel that they are worthy to be healed.  The sins they have committed and the wrong things that they have done, in their mind, disqualify them from being worthy to be healed.  The lack of people’s understanding righte3ousness, including many Christians is the major reason people do not feel worthy of being healed.  Simply put, righteousness is right standing with the Lord.  On the cross, the Lord Jesus, who never sinned, took our sins upon Himself and gave us His right standing with His Father.  When you become Born Again, the Lord cleanses you of your past sins and failures.  He makes you worthy of all of His blessings.  As soon as the leper said this to Jesus, Jesus immediately stretched out His hand, touched the leper and healed him.  This teaches very clearly, that it is always the will of the Lord for you to be well.  The Lord Jesus believes that His willingness to heal and your being cleansed from all sins causes us to be so grateful that we purpose in our hearts to live right and serve our Lord and Savior out of sincere love.  Is He willing to heal you?  Of course.  Believe this and be well.
