August 10;     Matthew 20:30;     20/260;   ‘Persistence’

Matthew 20:30 And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!"

Imagine being blind and then hearing people talking about Jesus, a Man who healed the sick.  Then one day, as you were sitting by the road, you hear excitement and this very Man who is a Healer, is passing by.  Would you just sit there and hope that He might call to you and heal you or do you cry out asking the Lord for mercy and healing.  They did the only thing that makes sense, they started crying out to Jesus for mercy.  The crowd became impatient with these two men as they called out and told them to be quiet.  Those that told them to be quiet were not blind and in desperate need for help.  These two blind men would not be denied and cried out all the louder for the Lord’s mercy.  Jesus stopped and called them to Him.  Jesus then asked them what they wanted.  This is vital.  Even though it was evident what they needed, the Lord still asked them what they wanted.  Jesus does this to locate our faith.  He wanted to hear them say that they wanted their eyes to be opened and that is what they did.  With great compassion, the Lord touched their eyes and they were healed.  Never quit.  Those men had heard that the Lord Jesus healed and once they knew that they were determined to receive what they needed.  The Word of God clearly teaches that healing is the will of God.  Once you know that, believe that.  Go to a church where healing is taught.  There are several biblical ways to be healed.  Know that the Lord loves you and just as He had compassion on these two blind men, He will feels the same way towards you. Receive prayer, believe and persistently thank the Lord for healing you.
