Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" 2024 Day 189

July 7;     Revelation 8:3; 246/260(II);     ‘Prayers of the Saints’

Revelation 8:3 Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was
given much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar
which was before the throne.
The seventh seal on the scroll that the Lord Jesus opened (Revelation 5:5) brought the presence
of seven angels with trumpets. Another angel with a golden censor filled the censor with incense
and the incense was mixed with the prayers of the saints. The angel with the censor with incense
and the saint’s prayers in it, filled the censor with fire and cast it to the earth (v5). The angels
with the seven trumpets now prepared themselves to blow the trumpets. In the Old Testament
trumpets were sounded as a warning and a call to repentance. The prayers of the Christians,
petition the Lord to bring upon the earth God’s judgments which would cause the rebellious to
repent. These are not prayers for the unsaved to be killed. The love of the Lord in the spirits of
the Christians always pray for the lost, regardless of their godless character, to repent. The first
four trumpets are on the environment as if the Lord is trying to get the attention of the lost,
revealing to them that He is God. The believers are teamed up with the Lord, and are still trying
to get the attention of the unsaved to turn to Jesus. The Bible teaches that the Lord has no
pleasure in the death of the wicked. As Christians, the Lord Jesus told us that we are in the
world, but we are not of the world. We pray for those who hate us and do all they can to hurt us.
That is what the Lord Jesus did. Even in these end times, believers and the Lord will do all they
can to see everyone who will, be saved.
