Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  2024  Day 116

April 25;       Ephesians 5:33;        173/260;         ‘Love and Respect’

Ephesians 5:33  “Nevertheless let each one of you in particular so love his own wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.”

Much time, effort and finances have been invested into studies, searching for the primary needs of  both a husband and a wife.  Meanwhile, all researchers had to do was pick up the Bible and turn to this verse.  After all of the efforts of secular professionals, they came to the same conclusion taught in Eph. 5:33.  Wives need the love of their husbands, and husbands need the respect of their wives. God’s Word never tells a wife to love her husband.  If a wise husband will treat his wife the way the God treats him and tells him to treat his wife, her  love for him will be automatic and  in line with the Word of God.  The Lord loves us, believes in us, encourages us, protects us, blesses us and when there arises a need to correct us, He does it in a kind way from His Word.  Husbands, do the same and your wife will love you just the way you need her to. On the other hand, husbands need the respect of their wives.  A wife should nor respect or desire the opinion of another man more than her husband.  If a wife will encourage her husband, sincerely believing and telling him that she believes in him and his ability to provide for their family, he will rise to the belief and respect  she has in him.  The Lord made the man to be godly, reflecting the character of Jesus.  Knowing his wife has confidence in him will cause him to rise to the level of her encouragement.  Words are powerful.  When a wife praises her husband, sincerely highlighting to him how much she appreciates what he does for her and their family, that man will move mountains to be everything the wife tells him that he is.
