Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  2024  Day 111

April 20;       Galatians 6:8;        111/260;        ‘Sowing & Reaping’

Galatians 6:8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

This verse shows us very clearly that what we sow, we will reap.  The Lord created this law to bless us.  If we use it improperly, the law intended to bless can curse you (really you curse yourself).  If we sow to our flesh, meaning living our life in a sinful, selfish manner we will reap corruption.  The word corruption means ruin.  We can ruin the incredibly fulfilling life the Lord created us to have, by living in a contrary to the Word manner.  The word corruption also means perish.  If we are not a Christian and live in a sinful manner, we will be eternally separated from the Lord.  This would never be His will, but we, as having a free will, can choose to live in this manner.  If as a Christian we live according to our flesh, we will go to heaven when we pass on, but there will be few, if any rewards when we stand before the Lord.  We will see the scars and marks of His suffering on our behalf.  Jesus will obviously know how little we did with the greatest gift imaginable, an eternal relationship with our Lord.  Conversely, if we sow to the Spirit, living a fruitful Christian life and doing all we can to continue the ministry of the Lord Jesus, we will receive the eternal life blessings now, that begin when we become born again.  An abundant life that is beyond compare.   Then when we leave this world and stand before the Lord Jesus, we will be rewarded for our faithfulness while we were here on the earth, His blessing us with incredible things to do eternally, and hear Jesus say, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
