Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  2024  Day 110

April 19;       Galatians 5:6;        110/260;        ‘Faith Works By Love’

Galatians 5:6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but faith working through love.

Religion concerns itself with the outward man, things easy to do, that erroneously make those who practice religion think that they are spiritual.  In this verse the Holy Spirit through Paul teaches us what is important.  ‘Faith working through love.’  There are a few ways that we can look at this phrase and be blessed.  Our faith works by love.  As we live our lives walking in love with others, doing all that we can to bless and help them, we position ourselves so that our faith works for us.  There is no sin of unforgiveness or resentment toward another that would hinder our faith from working.  Our faith works by knowing that the Lord loves us.  Because He does love us, we have great faith that our faith will receive whatever we need and the Word tells us legally belongs to us.  Finally, again we are loved by the Lord.  He gave us a measure of faith so that we could believe the gospel and be born again.  The love of God wants us to grow in our fellowship with Him, through the Word of God, prayer and worship.  As we do this the measure of faith given to us by the Lord will continue to grow and get stronger.  Part of the strengthening of our faith is the absolute knowledge of how much we are loved by the Lord.  We see in the Word that God the Father loved us so much He redeemed us from sin and sickness by the death of His Son, Jesus.  The love of God for us that is almost beyond comprehension, as we learn about it in the Word and experience, produces in us a faith that is capable of believing the Lord for anything.
