Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  2024  Day 102

April 11;       2 Corinthians 9:8;        158/260;        ‘Good Work Abundance’

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

In verses 6 and 7, Paul is talking about sowing and reaping when giving offerings.  Three things apply to the law of sowing and reaping.  You reap back the same as what you sow (finances sown reap finances). You reap back in proportion to what you sow and you always reap back more than what you sow.  Verse 7 teaches that you are to give offerings as you purpose in your heart to give them, not feeling obligated or pressured to give.  Here is the key, the Lord loves a cheerful giver, one who is excited to sow their finances into the work of the ministry.  Remember according to biblical financial principles, the tithe is given to the local church you attend.  Offerings are given to whatever Christian work you choose.  In verse 8, expanding sowing and reaping to every area of life, God’s grace, His unmerited favor, what He does simply because of His great love for us, will enable us to have an abundance for every good work.  Being a cheerful giver does not have to pertain only to finances.  A Christian can cheerfully sow their time helping others in any number of ways.  Their unselfish desire to be a blessing sets in motion the law of sowing and reaping.  The cheerful helper will reap back help when they need it good measure, pressed down and shaken together (Luke 6:38).  Because the cheerful giver freely sows what is needed to help another, they will reap self satisfaction (sufficiency) to bless them in return.  Live your life sowing into others cheerfully. You will reap much more of what you sowed to bless you.
