Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 65
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 65
March 6; Galatians 6:9; 65/260(II); ‘Do Not Grow Weary’
Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Here is an incredibly vital truth, you must get your value and worth from the Lord Jesus, not from people. Remember, the Lord Jesus did everything that He did for humanity based on His love for us, not our love for Him. I do not know the statistics, but having been in the ministry for almost 38- years, it is clear that many walk away from the ministry and church because of offenses. Christians are people and they can and do, at times, things that are hurtful and cruel. When we first started the church, the Lord was merciful and though there are always minor challenges, we did not have anything major until 6 years after the church began. The circumstances were incredibly painful, but the Lord saw us through. That is the key. By keeping our eyes on Jesus, knowing that we all did things that He was punished for and yet He still loved us and did it, gave us the courage to keep on going. Today, having seen and been through all kinds of challenges, God’s grace and mercy helps all of us go through those things confident in Him that He will see us through and all is alright. A truth that helps is that almost always, it is hurting people who hurt others. Serving the Lord is such an honor. It also makes those who do serve Him a target for the devil to try to stop. The longer we serve Jesus, the stronger we become and the less moved we are because of challenges and hurtful behavior. Love everyone as the Lord loves us. Look to Jesus for your value and purpose. Prayer and the Word of God bring peace and restoration from difficult times. Keep your eyes on Jesus, that is the key.
