Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 38
February 7; I Corinthians 8:3; 38/260(II); ‘Loving God’
1 Corinthians 8:3 But the person who loves God is the one God knows and cares for. NLT
Life was never created by the Lord to be complicated and stressful. Buy a house, finance a car, begin an insurance policy, the paperwork is staggering. The world system, inspired by the devil, is intentionally complicated to waste our time and keep us away from the things that matter, time with the Lord. In Luke 10, the Lord Jesus was in the home of Lazarus, Martha and Mary. Martha was busy preparing food and doing all of the chores that have to be done when you home is filled with guests. Mary, on the other hand, sat at the feet of Jesus and listened to what He was teaching. Martha became upset with her sister and asked Jesus to tell Mary to help her. Jesus said that Mary had made the correct choice, spending time with Jesus. It is not that some natural things are not important or necessary. Make Jesus the priority of your life and He will see to it that everything else gets done. More than anything God the Father wants us to love Him. If we will do this, we will be known by the Father. He will know us personally, intimately and our needs will be met because He knows them. Your finances, your health, your career, your leisure activities will be taken care of. Do you need to spend some time on these things, yes. Do you need to allow these things to cause fear and stress in your life, no. Jesus said He takes care of the birds. He knows our needs and has declared that He meets them. The Bible teaches us to fear not because He is with us. We are told to be anxious for nothing. He assures us that He will withhold no good thing from us. Love the Lord, spend time with Him and your needs are met.
