Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 350

December 16;      1 Timothy 6:1;       195/260(III);        ‘Employers & Employees’

1 Timothy 6:1 Let as many bondservants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honor, so that the name of God and His doctrine may not be blasphemed.

We are Christians 24/7.  We are ministers of reconciliation wherever we go.  We are ambassadors for Jesus Christ.  We have a wonderful opportunity to ‘let our light shine’ at our place of employment.  Once those we work for and with know that we are Christians, and they should know that quickly by the way we conduct ourselves and speak to others, not only our reputation, but the reputation of Jesus is on the line.  Our Lord knows that many people we will encounter in life will not be pleasant.  To help and protect us, the Holy Spirit has come to live in our spirit.  The Holy Spirit is our Helper, Strengthener and Comforter.  He will help us respect our employers and conduct ourselves in a manner that will bring honor to Jesus.  Additionally, when we become born again, the Holy Spirit deposits the fruit of the Spirit into our spirit (Galatians 5:22-23).  These character qualities also enable us to be respectful and well able to act Christlike regardless of the challenges we may face at work.  If we respond to unfairness and persecution just as an unsaved employee does, we bring shame on the Name of Jesus.  There are incredible blessings that belong to us when we become a Christian.  There are responsibilities as well.  If we purpose in our heart to always behave in a biblical manner, the love of God in and through us will impact our bosses and those we work with. Respect will be earned and doors opened to lead them to Jesus.
