Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 331
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 331
November 27; Philippians 3:20; 177/260(III); ‘Citizens of Heaven’
Philippians 3:20 For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
Once we become born again, we become citizens of heaven. This one truth alone can help us forget about our future and our needs being met here on earth. Our Heavenly Father takes very good care of us. The Word tells us that the Lord will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory through Jesus Christ (Philippians 4:19). Do we have responsibilities? Of course. But we no longer have to be fearful about a job, finances, the future. The Father has a wonderful retirement package for us, eternity with Him and our Lord. No one knows all of the details of heaven, but our Lord of infinite wonder, must have an incredible forever for us. Verse 21 teaches that we will have heavenly bodies. Able to live well in heaven or on earth. We will be able to travel at the speed of thought. If we are alive at the rapture of the church, the Lord Jesus will appear in the clouds and call us to Him. On our way up to meet Jesus, our body will be transformed into a heavenly body, perfectly adapted for heaven or earth. Should we pass on before the rapture, our spirit will go immediately to heaven. Then at the rapture of the church, our spirit will appear with Jesus in the clouds, our body will be resurrected, wherever it is, and our body will be recreated and united with our spirit. A perfect resurrection body that will never grow old and never be sick. When Jesus had risen from the dead, with His resurrection body, He enjoyed food with His disciples. Whoever you are and whatever your circumstances, by faith believe you are a citizen of heaven, provided for by the Lord now and forever with Jesus.
