Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 325

November 21;      Ephesians 3:20;       171/260(III);        ‘Exceedingly Abundantly’

Ephesians 3:20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,

This verse is part of the second powerful prayer Paul prays for the congregation of the church at Ephesus (and for us too).  Verses 17-19 talks about Paul’s desire that we would know the love of the Lord which passes understanding.  As we do comprehend how much we are loved, we begin to see the fullness of God, every blessing and ability that has been given to us.  This truth of who we have become as Christians is taught to us clearly in this 20th verse.  Our Lord is surely able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think.  Since Jesus is God, we have no problem believing that.  What is so exciting about this verse is that the Lord does exceedingly abundantly above all that we could ask or think through us.  As born again, Spirit filled Christians, we are now equipped as the Lord Jesus was and can and must continue His ministry on this earth.  The power of the Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, and flowed through Jesus in miracles, signs and wonders, now flows through us.  Nothing the world offers comes close to the incredible life a ‘on fire’ Spirit filled believer has.  Caring about others, sharing the gospel, laying hands on people and seeing the power of God set them free from whatever tormented them, is a privilege beyond words.  Paul prayed this prayer, Ephesians 3:14-21 for the church.  You can and should pray this prayer for yourself, as well as chapter 1:15-23.  Exceedingly abundantly living will be the result.
