Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 324

November 20;      Ephesians 2:6;       170/260(III);        ‘Seated With Jesus’

Ephesian 2:6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

This is exciting truth and will help you greatly in knowing your authority in Jesus Christ.  Jesus, after His spirit was raised from hell and reunited with His body, by the power of the Holy Spirit, returned to heaven and is seated at the right hand of His Father.  The Word of God teaches that He is seated far above all demonic forces.  They are under His feet.  Now, concerning us as Christians, we are in an eternal relationship with the Father though our Lord Jesus Christ.  That is permanent.  Fellowshipping with the Lord is up to us.  You are in a relationship with Jesus when you are saved.  How much time you spend in fellowship with Jesus by prayer and the Word, is up to you.  This verse teaches about two other aspects of our walk with the Lord as well.  Positionally, we are seated with Jesus in heaven, far above demonic forces.  They are under our feet just as they are under Jesus’ feet.  That lines up with the fact that when Jesus rose from the dead and took the authority Adam gave satan away from satan, Jesus gave that authority back to us, His church.  That is truth.  Now we must function on this earth knowing the authority Jesus gave us.  Jesus took us out of the kingdom of darkness and we are now in the kingdom of the Lord Jesus.  If we do not spend time reading the Word, learning who we are in Christ, we can have authority over demonic forces and never use it.  Learn who you are, function that way, no greater way to live.
