Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 323

November 19;      Ephesians 1:7;       169/260(III);        ‘In Him’

Ephesians 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

In the epistles (letters) there are over 130 ‘in Him’ scriptures.  In Him, In Jesus, by Him, etc., these verse all teach us things that belong to us as Christians because of what Jesus Christ did for us.  Kenneth E. Hagin wrote a little mini book entitled “In Him” listing all of these verses.  This verse tells us that because we are in the Lord Jesus we have redemption.  That means that the Lord Jesus Christ paid our debt of sin which He did not owe.  Jesus ransomed us.  Jesus took our punishment upon Himself and paid for our sins by His shed blood.  We were not redeemed with silver or gold, rather we were redeemed by the blood of Jesus.  When we are born again, we are ‘in Him’ and the blessing of redemption is ours as is taught in this verse.  Jesus did this for us by the riches of His grace.  His unmerited favor.  Our Lord redeemed us because of His great love for us and willingly sacrificed Himself so that we would spend eternity in heaven with Him.  There are probably more ‘in Him’ verses in Ephesians than in any other Book in the Bible.  Ephesians is an incredibly powerful, most who study the Bible say it is the most powerful Book in the Word of God.  As you read the epistles and as Christians this is where we need to spend the most time reading, since this is where we are taught what is ours as the Church, make note of the ‘in Him’ verses.  They will bless you and strengthen your walk with Jesus. We are eternally safe because we are ‘in Him.
