Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 317

November 13;      Galatians 1:4;       163/260(III);        ‘Delivered’

Galatians 1:4 who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

The Lord Jesus Christ came to die for our sins and sicknesses so that we would have eternal life and live this life free from sickness and disease.  This verse puts an added dimension on what the Lord Jesus did, in line with the will of His Father.  Ever since the sin of Adam, this world has been cursed and is in direct opposition to the things of God.  The Lord Jesus gave Himself for our sins to deliver us from this present evil age.  In the incredibly wonderful prayer the Lord Jesus prayed for His disciples and us in John 17, the Lord says that we are in this world, but we are not of this world.  Salvation brings the life of God into our spirit.  Being born again, if we are serious about pursuing the things of the Lord, changes our entire perspective on life and our purpose for being here.  Above everything else, is our dedication to duplicate the ministry of the Lord Jesus.  We now understand how blessed life is when we follow what the Word teaches and not what the world teaches.  Our first priority for our family, friends, fellow workers, everyone, is that they accept the Lord Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior.  We seek and become baptized in the Holy Spirit, empowered by the Holy Spirit as Jesus was to continue His ministry of preaching, teaching and healing.  As a sincere Christian, nothing else satisfies, but sharing Jesus Christ by our love, the Word, praying for others and making a difference for the Lord anyway we can.  God’s will for us is now our will.
