Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 304
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 304
October 31; 2 Corinthians 1:1; 150/260(III); ‘Called By God’
2 Corinthians 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother
Paul was called to be an apostle by the Lord. Jeremiah was called by the Lord to be a prophet before he was formed in his mother’s womb (Jerimiah 1:5). The Bible clearly teaches that the Lord is no respecter of persons. That means that if the Lord knew exactly what He wanted Paul to do and what He wanted Jeremiah to do, He knows exactly what He wants you to do as well. Generally speaking, according to 2 Corinthians 5, we are all ministers of reconciliation and ambassadors for Jesus Christ. That means that whatever we do, we must do everything we can to influence and lead others to Jesus. It may be your family, those you work with, your friends or whoever. You may not be called to be a full time minister, but again, we are all ministers, called to bring people to Jesus. If you are not called into the full time ministry, you surely are called to attend and be active in a local church. Seek the Lord as to what He would have you do in that church. The ministry of helps as it is called, is so vital. Local churches need faithful congregants who will be there to help see that everything goes well and the Holy Spirit has the maximum opportunity to draw people to Jesus through us. How important is it to Jesus that children are ministered to and led to Him? What about teens? There are all kinds of ways to minister to adults in services. If you sincerely pray and ask the Lord what He would have you to do, He will surely tell you.
