Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 300
October 27; I Corinthians 13:13; 146/260(III); ‘Love The Greatest’
1 Corinthians 13:13 And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
‘And now abide…’ Faith, hope and love are permanent ‘fixtures’ for every Christian. Additionally, love is eternal and can and should be given away to everyone, all of the time. Faith and hope are a ‘means to an end.’ Faith is given to us by the Lord to receive what we need or to help others receive what they need. Our faith works by love. Because the Lord loves us, we know that He will meet our needs and the needs of others. Hope is a general expectation of good. Again, because we know that we are loved by the Lord, we believe that what we hope for will turn into reality. Both faith and hope are important and are needed now, in this lifetime. Without faith we cannot please the Lord because we must believe He gives us everything the Bible teaches us is ours (Hebrews 11:6). Hope is that expectation of good for ourselves or for others that we know and care about. This is one reason love is greater because love blesses everyone at all times. Love delights in using our faith to help others receive the blessings of God. Hope will by love see and expect good for others. Faith, hope and love are vital in this age, but eternally faith will give way to sight. We will have everything we need and will not need our faith to bring things into manifestation. Hope will turn into experience as we will not have to hope for things in the future, We will have everything then. Love is greater because love will endure forever with the Lord.
