Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 283
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 283
October 10; Romans 12:3; 129/260(III); ‘The Measure of Faith’
Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
Our Lord is incredibly fair. No two of us are the same. We are each uniquely created by the Lord with different talents and abilities. Where we are born and the environment we live in varies greatly. Advantages and opportunities in the natural are often not fair. All of this is true as it applies to our physical life. Since the Lord is fair, He has put in each of us an equal measure of faith. We use that faith to hear and believe the gospel when it is presented to us. From the point of salvation forward, what we do with that measure of faith, is up to us. That measure of faith can grow as we feed it on the Word of God, develop a strong prayer life and get involved in a good local church. Regardless of the advantages or disadvantages you may have due to your natural circumstances, no one can prevent you from growing and becoming exceedingly strong spiritually. Your impact on your surroundings spiritually is completely dependent on your determination and effort to grow. Once you do decide to be a spiritual ‘powerhouse’ for Jesus, the difference you will make in this world, far surpasses any natural achievements. Spiritual achievements are eternal. The wonderful thing about the Lord is that when you are doing His work, strong in faith, impacting lives, the natural environment means nothing. The Lord Jesus loves people and needs strong Christians to minister to all of them. The measure of faith, grown strong, pleases God.
