August 24;       John 14:6:       82/260(III);       ‘The Way Truth & Life’

 

John 14:6 Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 

 

Here is another I AM statement from Jesus.  First of all, think about this.  If Jesus is not what He said He is in this verse, He had to be totally deceived.  If Jesus was totally deceived, do you think His disciples (excluding Judas), those who knew Him best, would be willing to be martyred for Him?  John was the only one who died from natural causes and they tried to boil him in oil because of his faith in Jesus.  No, Jesus is exactly what He said He is in this verse.  Jesus is the way.  Jesus is the only way that a person goes to heaven.   When we hear the gospel and believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died for our sins and sicknesses, and believe this.  Then when we confess what we believe concerning Jesus that He is the way to haven, we are born again.  Jesus is the truth.  John 1:1 tells us that Jesus is the Word.  The Word was given to us so that we could know who Jesus is.  God’s Word is truth (John 17:17).  Once we believe the truth concerning Jesus, accepting this truth, we are saved.  Jesus is the life.  The Lord demonstrated the life of God.  His character, His teachings and healings, His example of how to live all exemplified the life He had and the life we receive when we become a Christian.  We can live as Jesus did, because His life is now in us and we can see exactly what that life is like watching Jesus in the gospels.  Finally Jesus tells us that He is the only way to heaven.  Believe this, accept Jesus and heaven is your home forever.
