Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 226

August 14;       John 4:6:       71/260(III);       ‘Still Anointed’

John 4:6 Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat thus by the well. It was about the sixth hour.

The Lord Jesus was tired after a long journey on foot.  He sat by a well in the city of Samaria.  A Samaritan woman came to draw water from the well and Jesus began to talk to her.  She was surprised that a Jew would talk to her at all.  Samaritans were a mixed race.  The Jews had intermarried with the Assyrians and the Jews hated them..  As they talked, the Lord Jesus shared with her about living water and His conversation began to draw personal information about her, out of her.  By the Holy Spirit and a word of knowledge (past or current information about a person or situation that could only be known supernaturally), Jesus began to share things about her and her personal relationships.  As Jesus ministered to her, she realized that Jesus was a prophet and perhaps even the Messiah.  She returned to the city and told the men to come with her to meet the Man she thought was the Christ.  Many believed in Jesus because of the testimony of this woman.  When they went to the well to talk to Jesus many more believed on Jesus because they heard Him speak personally.  The Lord Jesus came to seek and to save the lost.  Even when He was physically weary, He cared about the salvation of this woman.  His physical weariness did not prevent the Lord Jesus’ anointing to manifest and open the door for the salvation of many.  When we care about others, our spirit, anointed by the Holy Spirit, will help them even if our body is weary.
