Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 225
August 13; John 3:3: 70/260(III); ‘Seeing the Kingdom’
John 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
The Lord Jesus tells Nicodemus, a religious leader, the he must be born again. This is the need of every human being, to be born again by a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. That is ‘Christianity 101.’ What I want to talk about is seeing the kingdom of God. When we pass on, die physically, if we are born again, our spirit will immediately go to heaven to be with the Lord forever. That blessing is instantly yours once Jesus Christ becomes your Lord and Savior. There is another meaning to seeing the kingdom of God. Jesus told us that the kingdom of God is within us. What He meant, is that once we are born again, the blessings of the kingdom of God are ours now. In the passage of scripture we call the Lord’s Prayer, one of the verses is ‘Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.’ There is no sickness, poverty, anxiety, depression, etc. in heaven and once we are born again, since the kingdom of God comes in us then, none of those things which are not in heaven, can be in us now. The devil will try to attack you with what you are legally free of, but if you know the Word and know that the kingdom of God is within you now, you can be free from any of satan’s attacks. The key to living in the blessings of the kingdom of God now is to know the Word. The Word clearly teaches us what Jesus did for us and what is ours now. See this is the Word, get this truth in you by continuing in the Word and live the blessed life Jesus came to give you now and forever.
