August 7;       Luke 21:27;       65/260(III);       ‘The Second Coming’

Luke 21:27 Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.

There will be two ‘comings’ of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The first will be the rapture of the Church.  At the rapture, only the Christians will see Jesus and we will be taken to heaven.  On our way, our natural bodies will be changed into resurrection bodies, able to function in heaven and on earth.  The bodies of Christians who have died will be raised, changed into resurrection bodies and united with their spirits which have been in heaven with Jesus.  The rapture is not what this verse is talking about.  This verse refers to what is called the second coming of Jesus Christ.  The tribulation is over, the anti-Christ and his army are united to do battle with Jesus.  Everyone on the earth will see the second coming.  The ‘battle’ with the forces of anti-Christ will be over in a moment of time.  Jesus Christ is Lord.  The deceiver (the devil) has been deceived to ever think he could prevail against our Lord.  At the second coming every unsaved person on the earth will be removed.  Those on the earth, who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior during the tribulation, will be alive during the thousand year, millennial reign of Jesus.  We, the Church, will rule and reign with Jesus on the earth.  Those saved, during the tribulation will not have resurrection bodies.  They will have children who must decide to make Jesus their Lord.  Some will not accept Jesus and those who do not will be removed when the millennium is over.  Then eternity begins. What a exciting future.
