 Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 209

July 28;       Luke 11:24;       55/260(III);       ‘Fill the House'

Luke 11:24 "When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.

We have been given authority over satan and demonic forces by the Lord Jesus Christ.  If a person is not Born Again a demon may possess that person.  We as Christians, can cast that demon out of the person, if they want to be free.  Once that person has been delivered of that demon and becomes Born Again, the Holy Spirit comes to live in their spirit.  A demon cannot be in the spirit of a Christian.  Once Born Again, the person who was possessed by a demon should begin to grow in the things of God by reading the Word, praying and attending church.  If that person does not grow in the things of the Lord the demon can return and oppress the one he formerly possessed.  Verse 25 tells us the demon will try to return and if he finds that the one who he formerly possessed, has not filled himself with the things of God, he and other demons will successfully harass and torment this person.  By not filling ‘your house’ with the things of the Lord, an open door is given that allows that person to be ‘demonized.’  There is no need for this.  The power of God is infinitely greater than the power of the devil.  Devil proof your mind and body by filling your spirit with the Word.  Areas in your life that allowed the demonic possession must be eliminated so that demons will no longer have access to you.  Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world (I John 4:4).  This is absolutely true, but it is up to us to live in a manner that shuts out the devil
