Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 207
Pastor Barry's "Chapter & Verse" Day 207
July 26; Luke 9:43; 53/260(III); ‘Power to Heal & Save’
Luke 9:43 And they were all amazed at the majesty of God…….
The Lord Jesus had spent the night on the Mount of Transfiguration with Peter, James and John. They came down from the mountain and as usual a great multitude was there to meet Him. A man suddenly cried out that his son was greatly tormented by a demon. The man told Jesus that he asked the disciples to cast the demon out and they could not (they were growing in their faith and the knowledge of who they were. Soon they would be baptized in the Holy Spirit and flow in the power of the Holy Spirit). The Lord Jesus saw the demon throw the boy to the ground and convulse him. Immediately Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father. The multitude was amazed at the power and majesty of Jesus. His miracles and healings played a huge role in the people believing He was the Messiah and they put their trust in Jesus. Miracles still cause those who witness them to get saved. You cannot deny that there is a God or say that He is mean, when He heals someone in a service you attend or on the street. The only difference with miracles and healings today is we, the Church, do them. Once we are baptized in the Holy Spirit, the miracle working power of the Holy Spirit comes upon us and we are well able to do the works Jesus did. In fact Jesus commanded us to (John 17:18; John 14:12). We were created for the most exciting life there could be. Nothing the world offers comes close. We get them healed and saved.
