Pastor Barry's  "Chapter & Verse"  Day 169

June 18;   Matthew 14:30;   14/260(III);   ‘Eyes on Jesus’

Matthew 14:30 But when he saw that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!"

We were created to live supernaturally in the natural world.  The Lord Jesus was walking on the water and His disciple saw Him.  At first they were terrified, but once they knew it was Jesus, Peter wanted to walk on the water as well.  The Lord Jesus told Peter to come to Him, walking on the water.  Peter did walk on the water.  As long as he kept his eyes on Jesus, he was doing fine.  It was when Peter took his eyes off of the Lord that he got into trouble and began to sink.  Peter cried out to Jesus and Jesus rescued him.  A very important principle is taught here.  The Bible teaches that with the Lord nothing is impossible.  Let me clarify that.  Nothing is impossible that we are told in the Word of God is ours.  The key to flowing in the supernatural is that we keep our eyes on Jesus.  For example.  The Bible clearly teaches us that healing belongs to us.  The Word tells us that the Lord Jesus took our sicknesses and diseases upon Himself.    We keep our eyes on Jesus, by keeping our eyes on His Word.  If we allow symptoms in our body or a negative doctor’s report to cause us to look away from the Lord, just as Peter did walking on the water, we will begin to sink.  In the case of healing, we must have a firm foundation in the Word and know in our spirit that Jesus is our Healer.  Once this is engrained in us, we can and will refuse to be moved by anything other than what the Word tells us.  Does it take some effort?  Yes.  Is it worth it?  Absolutely
